Love is in the air, and this holiday means so much more to me now that we have Evie! Historically, Valentine's Day & it's accompanying hype haven't been something I get super excited about. Now that I'm with G, we usually go to a nice dinner and write love notes sometime in the week before or after the holiday, but it's never been something we celebrate on the day of. But, I have to tell you, with Evie in the picture, I can't WAIT for snuggles, red hearts, X's and O's, and some surprises for her daddy on Wednesday morning!
I think that what changed for me is the type of love we're celebrating. Romantic love is important - it's one of the things that I cherish in my relationship with G - but real love is so much more than that! It's watching my hubby snuggle with Evie on the couch while she has her bottle. It's G taking Evie for an hour so I can have coffee with a girl friend, uninterrupted. It's hearing that G wants tacos for dinner, sticking the salmon in the freezer, and making some kick-@$$ tacos. Those little, every day loves are the ones I'm excited about celebrating. So this year, for the first time, I can't wait for Valentine's Day.
