One of the things I can't stand is having too much stuff in my space. The clutter makes me claustrophobic and anxious. This is especially true when it comes to my closet - if I have to get dressed but have too many options, I get angry, then depressed, and end up sitting on my bed in just my underwear (assuming I was able to even pick a pair of those!) crying to G about having nothing to wear/not feeling pretty!!

For that reason, I tend to be really picky about what comes home from shopping with me. Each piece must meet a handful of criteria to make it into my shopping bag:

1) I have to LOVE it... as in, I have to be genuinely sad about the idea of leaving it on the rack

2) It has to fill a spot in my closet that either has an item that needs replacing, or is something I don't have yet

3) It has to match at least three of my five personal style words (for more about that & how to find yours, visit this post)

4) It has to fit perfectly, or need only very simple alterations

So, yesterday when my mom offered to watch Evie so I could shop ALONE (glory be! All you toddler moms, you know what a gift that was!), I jumped at the chance and came home with three new pieces, among which was this tank.

I knew as soon as I tried it on and three different looks popped into my head that it was coming home. Also, it's got my favorite color - blush - as the stripe, and it perfectly matches my new summer bag, so obviously it was meant for my closet ;-)

For every day, I love pairing it wit these ultra high-waisted denim shorts (I have a long torso, and these cover my belly button!) and some simple white slides (this pair is so comfy! I sized up 1/2 a size). I can also see wearing it with some boyfriend jeans and my fav white mules for a dressier daytime look, or even throwing on these high-waisted dark wash skinnies and heels for an effortless date night.

I've included similar pieces from some fav brands for the items that were sold out. As always, LMK if you have any sizing questions!
