PREGNANCY CAPSULE WARDROBE

It took me a while to write this post, Reader, for one simple reason: I wanted to get far enough into the pregnancy to truly understand what I needed to dress this ever-changing body. Now, eight months in, I feel fairly confident and knowledgable! So, without further ado, here is my pregnancy capsule wardrobe:
TOPS
Two Maternity Support Tanks
Two Short-Sleeved Maternity T-Shirts
One Long-Sleeved Maternity Shirt/Sweater
For the tanks, I can't recommend Blanqi highly enough. The built-in support system has been life-changing for me. My pelvic muscles loosened up so much that there were quite literally days I couldn't walk before I got them. This far in, I notice a big difference in pain level between when I wear them and don't. The lesson? Get one in black and one in white, and wear them religiously! As to T's I really love the way Motherhood Maternity's basic t-shirt fits without revealing too much of "the ladies". Just like I would in non-maternity sizes, I wear an XS.
BOTTOMS
One pair Maternity Leggings
One pair Maternity Boyfriend Jeans
Two pairs colored Maternity Jeans (White, Charcoal, Black, etc)
One pair Maternity Shorts
One Belly Band
For the leggings, I'm again a big fan of Blanqi. The support and fit can't be beat. As to the other jeans, I have found great, affordable options at Target and H&M, but if you're looking to splurge, I hear great things about Madewell's maternity line. As to the Belly Band (snagged mine at Target), it was a great option for when I just needed a way to wear my regular jeans unbuttoned and couldn't fill out a pair of maternity jeans quite yet.
OUTERWEAR
One Kimono-Style Cardigan
One Long Cardigan
You'll want these. Either for warmth or to cover your ever-expanding backside.
DRESSES
One Bodycon Dress
One Loose Short Dress
One Maxi Dress
There's just something nice about being able to slip into a dress and be done. I have found dresses I adore at Express, Guess, Ingrid & Isabel, and Pink Blush.

Of course, you'll want to add whatever loungewear and under-things you need to be comfortable, but this 16-piece wardrobe will give you all the maternity basics you need to mix and match comfortably from week 4 to week 40! As an added bonus, I actually own all the pieces I linked for this post, so I can attest to the quality and comfort-level of each them! And, as I've said before, the Blanqi Tanks are WORTH EVERY PENNY. Seriously. Just spend the $72 each. Your back will thank me... and thank me... and thank me. (You're welcome).
