A WIFEY FIRST

I haven't said much about it, but Reader, even though this Christmas had more simple gifts, G knocked it out of the park with his choices. Each thing he got me showed that he loves me as myself and as his wife. I know that might seem simple, and it is, but let me tell you: with this transition/addition of the title "Mom", knowing that my man sees me as me and as his first and foremost was exactly what my heart needed.

I have wanted this ILY Couture Wifey tee since we got married in 2014. Wife is a role that I've always held very dear and viewed with a lot of respect. I mean, this amazing man (because G is truly amazing) trusts me with his name. A name that is attached to his character, his reputation, and his honor. I feel the weight of that burden, and I am so glad that he trusts me enough to share it with me. In fact, I think next to child of God, Wife is the most important title I hold. It's the relationship that I nurture, cherish, honor, and commit to above all others.

With the new title "Mom" on the horizon, I've spent a lot of time alone and with G talking about how to keep putting our marriage first. We will love our kids (heck, I'm already so crazy about Evelyn that it blows my mind!), but Gabe will always be first, and that relationship my priority. Without a healthy, stable marriage, my kids can't have a healthy, stable home.

This shirt told me that G recognized all of this, and wanted to affirm, support, and love me in it. (Told you he's amazing!)

Top: ILY Couture | Jeans: Target | Jacket: Express | Shoes: Michael Kors | Bag: Coach | Watch: c/o Daniel Wellington | Bracelet: Swarovski

Now onto the outfit details! This mama-to-be is all about the comfort lately (sporting an extra 20 lbs will do that to a girl!), but I'm not willing to give up my chic edge. By pairing this tee with my favorite maternity jeans (Target #ftw), my black (minus the) leather jacket (a closet staple for the past 5 years!), and some classy kicks, I've got a look that is anything but boring and everything comfortable.

I have a question for you, Reader! Would you like to see more #dressthebump looks? or maybe you're hoping to see some non-maternity options linked in addition to my maternity pieces? Let me know!
