I haven't owned a pair of Adidas since high school (i.e. pre-2002), and I have to admit I was a bit hesitant to jump into this trend. Don't get me wrong: I L-O-V-E the look of sneakers with a dress (hence my ongoing obsession with these Michael Kors slides and this pair of Keds) but I wore Adidas with wanna-be skater gear back in the day. However, after realizing how many times each week I pulled out an outfit and thought: "You know what would be perfect with this? Some white tennies" I took the plunge and picked up these Adidas Neo sneakers.
I love them compared to the Stan Smiths (which are TOPS!) for one simple reason: the back is a clean black and white stripe. No color. And we all know how I feel about color (or a lack thereof!). I'm a big fan of the sneaker trend in general because, as a city girl, you want something that is easy to run blocks in, but chic enough to turn heads. These Adidas do just that. So, without further ado, here are four ways to incorporate the white sneaker trend into your wardrobe:
1) BODYCON DRESS - Just add some silver accessories for a chic, minimal look.
2) PREPPY - I love the preppy look achieved by adding a geometric skirt and a crisp white buttondown
3) ATHLEISURE - You know I couldn't skip one of my favorite trends! This look is elevated by a pair of cropped cigarette pants and an open-back tank.
4) STREET CHIC - Nothing says chic like a casual sweater trench with an oversized bag and some distressed denim.
Stay tuned Mondays and Thursdays this month! You're sure to see these shoes, my top, and the skirt make some appearances in other looks! We're all about mixing and matching this month on S&C!
