GREIGE

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: while I sometimes enjoy a pop of color, it normally just isn't my thing. I live my life in blacks, whites, and greys. So when I started to see the spring greige (i.e. grey + beige) trend, I breathed a sigh of relief and shifted my usual blacks to the lighter spring shades without having to embrace anything non-monochromatic.

I think the reason I love monochromatic color schemes so much is the room they leave for texture. I love to play with tones and texture (you'll see as my home comes along and I begin my decor posts! Color doesn't really exist in my home!), and any excuse to do that in clothing is welcome!

I did embrace the spring trend of cold shoulders (which I love! I have so many cold shoulder tops), and rolled my favorite grey jeans from forever ago from Express, pairing them with my favorite suede booties (I'm currently obsessed with suede) and my must-have, go-to, all-around-amazing tote from Nordstrom.

If you want to try this trend, look for pieces that are all warm or all cool in greys and beiges, then vary the texture. My knit sweater contrasts well with the monotone jeans, soft suede booties, and leather bag. I added silver accessories, like my favorite Guess Watch and mirrored sunnies, to complete the look.
