I had no idea what I was missing. I've used the same moisturizer every morning since I turned 25. And don't get me wrong - it's a fantastic moisturizer. It kept my skin relatively not red and hydrated on most days - but then I started branching out into the beauty world a bit more this past year, and realized I had put myself in a not-so-helpful box! My skin needs different moisturizers depending on the night I had, the day I'm going to have, the weather... the list goes on and on! So today I wanted to share with you the top three daytime moisturizers in my rotation - and, to be candid, I tried them all as parts of partnerships/collaborations, but since then they have become items I purchase on my own, because I discovered I need them.
1. DERMALOGICA DYNAMIC SKIN RECOVERY SPF 50
This is my standard, every-day, go-to moisturizer. If nothing is out of the ordinary with my skin, the moisture this provides keeps my skin dewey without being oily or heavy, and the SPF gives me confidence that I can head outside and take on my day. Once I switched to this, my skin toned & tightened so much that even G noticed!
2. OLAY WHIP TOTAL EFFECTS
When I need extra moisture, this is where I turn. My thirsty skin drinks this right up, and I love how light weight and non-greasy it is. It also really helps minimize my pores and gives the best dewy finish all day.
3. DERMALOGICA CALM WATER GEL
I use this when my skin is having a reaallly hard time. I have sensitive skin, and when it gets irritated, it gets super red. Fortunately, this moisturizer has some amazing calming ingredients and a major dose of hydration. This one has to dry for a while before I can move on to applying makeup, but when my skin is irritated and thirsty, it's worth it.
Bonus: DERMALOGICA PHYTO REPLENISH OIL
This is my secret weapon! Any time my skin needs an extra kick, I add a drop or two of this to my moisturizer and it majorly increases the amount of hydration my skin gets. It absorbs quickly and a tiny amount goes a long way. It's not cheap, but you definitely get bang for your buck.
