I've never had very full eyebrows. It's just not something the women in my family are blessed with. Growing up, I only had to tweeze a few errant hairs between my eyes to keep things in line. Some friends would call me lucky, but I wished I had thick, full eyebrows that needed more grooming over the thin lines I was born with.

I had been tossing around the idea of micro-blading for a few months when Essential Eyebrow Solutions reached out to me. EES is one of the only companies to address the problem of thinning eyebrows with a topical solution that promotes the appearance of thicker, fuller eyebrows in 90 days. Anything that could help with a lifetime of thin eyebrows in just three months was worth a try in my book, so I said yes and jumped on the EES train.

One of the things that drew me to them was the background info on how eyebrow hair is different than normal hair. Did you know that:

  • For eyebrow hair, the growth cycle is very short, typically about 4 months. Scalp hair, on the other hand, has a growth cycle that takes 3-4 years to complete. The result is scalp hair that is much longer than eyebrow hair.

  • Eyebrow hair emerges from the follicle at a very acute angle, so that eyebrow hairs lay almost flat against the skin. By contrast, the angle between scalp hair and the skin can be 45 degrees or more.

  • Eyebrow hairs grow on a single strand, whereas several hairs arise from a single follicle on the scalp.

Me neither! And since EES did know that, and worked to specifically address those facts, I was cautiously optimistic that I would see some sort of change.

So, did I?

I figured the easiest way to share my results with you would be a short Q&A, so here we go!

BEFORE AFTER

Q: What exactly is EES, and what do they claim to do?

A: In their words, "Essential Eyebrow Solution is a patented formula that nourishes, conditions, and revitalizes eyebrow hair resulting in the appearance of thicker, fuller eyebrows".

Q: How do you use it?

A: It's super simple, and takes less than 30 seconds! Morning and night, after cleansing your face, completely dry your eyebrows. Next, take a cotton swab and dip it into the solution, then swipe it over one eyebrow. Repeat with a fresh cotton swab for the other eyebrow. Allow to completely dry (around 15 minutes) before applying any makeup, and you're done!

Q: Did you see any results?

A: Yes! It was so gradual that I didn't notice at first, but now I can say with confidence (especially since G noticed it!) that the places where I already had eyebrow hairs do look thicker and fuller. It took around 45 days for me to be sure I was seeing something, but by day 90 my eyebrows definitely appeared thicker and fuller.

Q: Will you keep using it?

A: I think so! I stopped for a week after my 90 days were up, and I feel like I can tell. So I plan to keep up with it.

Q: Would you recommend it to a friend?

A: I would, with the understanding that it makes the hair you already have look thicker/fuller. I did not see any new hair growth beyond the scattered stray hairs I always get, but I definitely found myself using much less brow-filling product by the end of the 90 days.

Q: Is it worth the cost?

A: If your problem is thin hair, then absolutely! I really do feel that my eyebrow hairs look thicker and fuller since using the product.

Q: Is micro-blading still on the table?

A: Maybe someday. But honestly, I'm very happy with how thick and full my natural brows look. I use my brow pencil to fill in the areas where I really never had any hair, but use the pencil very sparingly where my brows actually are thanks to EES.
