This year for my birthday perk, Sephora offered a NARS lip pencil set.
I had been curious about the NARS lip pencil for a while, so I was only too glad to pick this up and give it a try! (Seriously; went to two Sephora stores before finding one that had it in stock. That's why I usually shop at ULTA... but that's another post...).
The set came with the Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella (red) and the Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien (pink). I really like them both. Having a matte red lip is something I've wanted to try for a while, and the NARS lip pencil is easy to apply and wears well. It faded after a few hours, but it didn't bleed, which I really appreciate! The pink is fantastic. It's got good coverage, is neutral enough to go with just about any outfit, and faded much more slowly than the red (probably because the red is a much bolder color, so the fading was more noticible). Neither pencil dehydrated my lips, so they were very comfortable to wear.
All in all, I would get more of these. I still think the Julep Lipstick (post here) is my favorite, but these are a slim, easy-to-carry option that I am really loving in my makeup arsenal!
