CALIFORNIA HERE WE COME!

You guys. This is the post I have been waiting to write. Praying I would get to write, honestly, since July of last year. It's been a long road, but I am so excited to finally be able to spill the beans:

We're Moving Home!!

Let me give you the backstory:

For those of you who are just stopping by for the first time, hello! Let me introduce myself: I'm Ashley, and I'm a California girl. Born and raised in Orange County, I grew up on the beach and in the water. I had my SCUBA license by 13, my California Boater Card at 22, and spent the first decade of my career in and on the water. I drove a Jeep, lived on the beach, and was never happier than when the air was salty and the sun was setting. When G and I met, I was living in Long Beach, and he was in Newport Beach. Our plan was to get married and move into his place in Newport, and, long term, buy a house in Corona del Mar. Then, a handful of months before we got married, G got promoted & transferred to San Francisco, which is the first move that began our trek away from So Cal.

Since then, we've added a move to Houston, TX, got a second dog, had our daughter, and, in July, went through the biggest surprise/career shake-up when G's company was acquired instead of being the acquirer, as we had all anticipated. A quick round of terminations had us shaking in our boots, and realistically, we were going to be separated from the new company by December 2017, as they were eliminating G's position. Shortly before Christmas, the company realized that it would be easier to transition & combine the two businesses with some extra, knowledgable hands, so they extended G's time on an interim basis through March 31st. While there have been several potential opportunities on the table for months, nothing was coming to fruition, which was scary to be honest.

Then, last Wednesday, we finally got the offer we had been waiting for :) G has accepted a position that is a step-up from where we were in the old company, gives him more territory, and takes us back to Southern California, where I am close to my beloved ocean, family, and long time girl friends.

We couldn't be more excited for this next step in our lives, and thanks to all of you who follow along! I can't wait to share my California home with all of you.
