I have never been a very patient person. Waiting gracefully & peacefully just isn't something I'm good at. My Type-A personality wants a decision made and an action taken almost immediately. So, while I can't share with you what we've been waiting on juuuust yet (I promise I will soon!), I can say that we've been waiting since July, and that the last week of intentional waiting and sitting in silence before God have been SO HARD for me!

You see, for me (and many of you, I'm guessing!) just waiting & being still feels like doing nothing. But it's not! It's in the waiting that we grow the most. We learn perseverance. We gain patience. Our faith has room to expand - and it must expand - or that waiting space will be filled with doubt and fear. I hate how uncomfortable growth is, but I am so grateful for a loving Father who says I'm perfect as I am and He can't wait to see what I become.

...but I still hope we're done waiting and I can share why I've been so quiet-ish this month with you soon! (and no, I'm not pregnant!)

Now let's chat a bit about this look - and more specifically, this top! I have a serious crush on B&W patterns for spring right now, with an especially strong love for gingham (which is not something I would normally gravitate towards!). The black and white is so fresh while staying neutral and understated. It's playful and chic. It's exactly what this classic minimalist needs for her spring wardrobe.

I am loving all the B&W gingham at Express right now, and I'm especially fond of this OTS peplum top! It's just the right amount of flirty, and so appropriate for the season.

I also finally jumped on the straw-bag bandwagon, and I'm so glad I did! Spring & Summer always feel more casual to me than Fall/Winter, and this little round black straw bag has been the perfect finishing piece for my Spring looks.

And you know I have to mention my shoes!! They're one of two new additions for the season, and I'm in LOVE! I really wanted to add some white shoes to my closet this year, so these Sam Edelman slides were a no-brainer! I tried a few other it shoes of the season (I'm looking at you, Steve Madden Greece slides!), but for the same price, these Sam shoes are so much more comfortable and I just love the pattern of the leather straps. You'll be seeing a LOT of these this month.

As always, let me know if you have any sizing/fit/feel questions! And I promise I"ll let you in on the what we've been waiting for secret soon.
