FALL FASHION MUST-HAVES

Even though our weather is cooler in Houston (80's instead of 90's!), it's still definitely not time for me to break out my fall favorites. But with the start of October and the return of the #PSL, I can't help but think of my other favorite fall things. So today I'm going to share with you the Fall items that always make my cool weather wardrobe.

1) THE PERFECT LAYERING JACKET

For me, this is my (minus the) Leather jacket from Express. It's warm, soft, water resistant, and just plain chic. I like the way it's big enough to go over a sweater but still sleek enough to not look big or boxy over a t-shirt.

2) BOOTS MADE FOR WALKING

If you've been following me for long you know this, but I quickly got rid of all the shoes I couldn't run at least 20 city blocks in when we moved to San Francisco. Now one of my stipulations for any shoe that joins my closet is wearability. I want to be comfortable in that shoe all.day. I love these Express OTK boots and these Steve Madden Booties because they are that stylish and that comfortable.

3) A COZY, NEUTRAL SCARF

I love to add texture without adding color, so for me something textured and neutral is the perfect addition to any outfit. I love this scarf because it fits the bill perfectly.

4) STATEMENT BAG

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: it doesn't need to be colorful to be loud. I think eye-catching structure, opulent textures, and exceptional detailing are what make a bag sing.

5) DIAMOND STUDS

Not a lot of jewelry shows when you're layered up, and I hate having dangly earrings catch on my scarves and chunky knits. A pair of diamond studs adds the perfect amount of sparkle.

And there you have it! What pieces do you always keep on rotation when the air gets crisp?
