I've been hunting for the perfect dress all summer. I wanted something simple. Classic. Versatile. I wanted something that felt like a second skin. Something I could slip into and effortlessly be ready for a casual walk at City Centre with G or an elegant night out. So when I saw this Ted Baker dress, I just knew it was *the one*.
Like I said in this post, petite girls absolutely can wear horizontal stripes, and I love the way the stripes on this dress accentuate all my curves, making my waist look tiny and my hips look bangin'. ;-)
I included this dress as one of my "back to basics" pieces because a highly versatile, simple dress like this is a basic every woman needs in her closet. I styled mine with my favorite new summer-to-fall purchase, these Vince Camuto cut-out booties, but I've also worn it with my camel colored Sam Edelman Gigi flats and love dressing it up with classic black pumps for a night out.
I also had to wear my new Coach bag. For those of you who follow me on Snapchat (@simplicityandco), you know how excited I was to find this color, and how easy it was to spend an afternoon at the mall getting it monogrammed (which is free, btw! love free customization). It's the softest leather, and I love how simple and elegant this crossbody is while staying clean and minimal. If you're looking to invest in a crossbody for summer/fall, I highly recommend this one. It's worth every single penny. (You'll be seeing a lot of it this month on S&C. I'm genuinely obsessed/in love).
Since this dress is out of stock online, I've linked some of my favorite similar ones by some of my go-to designers, like this one by Kate Spade, this one and this one from Express, and this one from James Perse (side note: I really love all the J.P. dresses. The fit of a size 1 on me is perfect! I've added my measurements on the new FAQ page so you can find the perfect size for you!)
For those who want the exact dress, it's the Linn Striped Midi by Ted Baker London. I found it at the Ted Baker outlet in Cabazon CA, but you can still find a few sizes across the internet!
What's your favorite versatile dress? Or are you going to add one of these to your collection?
