FAVORITE SUMMER ROSÉS

I couldn't let National Rosé Day pass with sharing my personal favorites. But first, a disclaimer: I'm very new to the world of rosé. While G is responsible for the maturity of my wine pallet, he isn't a fan of rosé at all, so I've been venturing out into those waters solo. I can't make the claim that these wines are the best the rosé world has to offer. But I can say that they are crisp, refreshing, and easy drinking (all exactly what I'm looking for during the summer months). Here are my current favorites:

1) SAMUEL ROBERT ROSE WILLAMETTE "VINTNER'S RESERVE", 2019

This wine was a gamble for me - I went with it simply because it was one I hadn't tried yet on the top 12 wines for summer list at our local Total Wine. It was delightful. Medium-bodied, slightly sweet, and fruit forward with notes of watermelon, strawberry, and plum.

2) CHEMIN DES SABLES IGP MEDITERRANEE

This surprisingly affordable (read: under $10) wine is what I typically reach for when I grab a rosé. It's bright, crisp, and has hints of citrus and strawberry. The light body makes it especially easy to sip on when it's hot outside.

3) BERTRAND COTE DES ROSES ROSE

The first rosé I tried and liked, but it's number three on my list now. This wine is refreshing and light. Always a hit - and the bottle is gorgeous.

Tried but didn't love:

FLEURS DE PRAIRIE ROSE COTES DE PROVENCE

This was actually the first rosé recommended to me, and it wasn't my favorite. It's crisp and floral, which I think may have been the disconnect for me. I prefer slightly sweet, berries, and citrus. But if you like floral wines, this may be the ticket for you!

When it comes to accompaniments, I have to admit I look for fun first. After all, this is a variety of wine G doesn't enjoy, so I can pick up whatever speaks to me! Some personal favorites are these stemless bubble glasses, these delicate pink glasses, and these iridescent ones. I've also been eyeing this wine insulator - it seems like the perfect answer to these warm summer nights.
